It was the same color, too! Died in Jackson Hole, next to the snake river.
Izzat the one with the roadside headstone engraved "Here lies our bug, dearly departed, tried to start, but only farted"?

Or is it the one a couple of miles down the road that simply says "Fahrvergnügen" ?

(Not to imply VW's have any spottier reliability than say, Ford or GM of certain eras. But VW owners seem to love their cars more and at least give 'em decent burials, sometimes.)

Mrs. F312 found on the net that tuxedo cats are 200% smarter than other cats. I would have to do more research on that to satisfy my mind.
When I came home one day to find my roommate (who was gonna be moving out in a week) had rescued an abandoned kitten maybe only a couple of weeks old which of course he wasn't going to take with him, I said "Yeah thanks buddy"....but while I was sitting the couch figuring out what to do it crawled up onto the back of the couch and then onto my shoulder and just perched there, and that was that.

So in the interests of raising it right, when I'd open up a can of food for dinner, which sound it learned to recognize in about 3 days, I'd also repeat the name I'd chosen for it ("Swee'pea" after the baby in the Popeye cartoons) a few times all the way to the point of putting it on the floor.

Couple of weeks later I had the opportunity to test it: Cat was "stuck" in a tree. Kept saying its name while opening a can of food, then went back inside. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, it came prancing into the kitchen meowing, and was rewarded with dinner. 😃

After that it'd come when I called, most times. :D And for about 3 months she loved to ride on my shoulder as I walked around, until she got a wee bit too big....:(

I don't name my guitars, but Mrs. F312 names our cats. Mrs. F312 found on the net that tuxedo cats are 200% smarter than other cats. I would have to do more research on that to satisfy my mind. Here is Sleeper, once an evening this is the face I get, when he wants his treats.

Some interesting comments, I don't normally name my guitars, I've probably owned over 100 over the years, and around 30 currently, but it's only my two Westerly acoustics that have acquired names, not the M120 or NS X175b, or any of the others past or present, must be a bonding thing! Certainly my 79 D25 (Dora)is the most satisfying acoustic guitar I've had. Others have maybe sounded better, played better or looked prettier, but for me it's unbeatable.

Tomorrow is NGD for me (!!) and I might decided to start the tradition with that one. it's a 1974 F-50R, and I can't wait to see it. I have a F-44 as its similar maple mate, so maybe I should name them both as a couple.

In fact, Maurice and Louise are sounding pretty good right now.

Might I humbly suggest Lauren and Humphrey, or "Bogey and Bacall", as in "We'll always have Paris"and "the beginning of a beautiful friendship"? :)

Of all my guitars only one has a "name".

This is an import Jackson SL2H which was a Sam Ash special model. It's an import model with plastic inlays and binding, a veneer top, and a licensed Floyd Rose, so it's absolutely not up to my "standards". It was the first guitar I bought when I got back into serious playing and it was my only guitar for a few years. I freaking love it to the point that I actually tried to get the Jackson Custom Shop to make one just like it. They ignored me but that's a tale for another time. I've since replaced the electronics and pickups and tone-wise it's an absolute monster. Note that this is a rare SL2H model because it's got an arched top:

Anyway, the blue Jackson is "The Cozy Guitar" because our First Newf (Cozy) who I adored had a piece of blue yarn as a collar before she had a name so blue things tend to be associated with Cozy in my life. It's one of the few guitars that hang on the wall in my home office. I actually had two of them for a while and the other one stayed with a friend in North Carolina so I could have a guitar while I was working 3 days a week down there.

I later discovered that Jackson made a very similar guitar in Japan during the '90s that they discontinued because they were so good that they cut into US Jackson sales. I've scored two of these and they are absolutely magnificent instruments. One of them hangs on the opposite wall in my office, but neither are worthy of names.
