I really dig that lightish blue control panel, how interesting a color scheme to go with. was it manufactured that way?

AAAAAArgggghhhhhh!

Everything tested perfectly. Screwed the chassis back into the head cabinet and now it's intermittent. This is why every computer in the '90s was left open - because when you put it all back together it stops working!

So many screws...

Y'sure this doesn't have anything to do with it?
Thanks for the pot Steve!
At least out here I could just run down to the dispensary if I needed to.

Try changing the fuse first, then look at the tubes to see if you've blown one. weblink

Guild had a mixed affair with circuit cards. The initial version of the Thunderbird had a circuit card but amps afterwards went back to point-to-point wiring.
If anyone is interested an earlier made Thunderstar Bass amp with the non painted front chassis is available at Guitar Center in Allentown. Unfortunately they listed the head and each of two cabs separately so total price adds up quickly.

Mavs are point to point. Thunder ones are point to point, as far as I know. Thunder One RVTs started out point to point and transitioned to boards. As far as I have seen, all the others had some boards in them.

One of these weekends I'll have to open the amps up to examine. I believe some have the most basic of citcuit card just to route wires but not mount any devices or components. It's been a long time since I looked inside the old Guild amps. In regards to the T1 RVT I do remember a little circuit card that held the "speaker driven reverb" amplifier circuit and tube.

In regards to chassis rust...that is pretty common on many of the amps I've seen.
