Hello, I have this old guild electric guitar and I did a lot of research on it and I just can’t find a model that was ever made that matches this one! The guitar has no serial number on it and there’s no USA stamp either which adds to the mystery ! This is definitely a vintage guitar that is dated between 1955 and 1967 but there are a few things that are very mysterious !

I never saw any guild that has this exact stenciled of the guild name and seems different than the usual stenciled
The tail piece is a zig zag style trapèze and I never seen any guild have it, in fact it matches the tail piece of a Gibson es-175 !

It seems like the guitar is a mix between the Gibson es 175 and Guild ce 100d

I searched so many hours on it and I’m now at a dead end, can anyone help solve the mystery :

what is the model, year and how much do you think this guitar is worth ?

Thank you

Oliver

Welcome. I'm going to say it is not a Guild as we ususaly understand the brand. It doesn't look like anything I've seen from any of the USA factories. The logo and the headstock shape are just "wrong". If there is a label visible through the f holes and a stamp on the back or the headstock the presence or absence of those will help. But more informed folks will be along in a bit.

hello

Headstock shape suggests it might be Korean made Hondo - but no - it is not a Guild

Edit - might as well be made in India or . . .

Found this on the net, but not sure if this is really a Guild. Anyone ever seen such headstock ? See attached. Thanks!

Were two threads merged? Because it looks like you're referring back to the same thread you posted in.

Yes. Depending on my time and mood I may or may not do a lot of clean up.

I usually leave a redirect that expires after a day or two so if you want to figure it out yourself, you can go to the forum you think the "other" thread might have been in and look. If a thread has the box with the arrow then it has been replaced by a redirect. You can click on it and that will take you to where the thread ended up.

This guitar has nothing to do with the US company Guild. Made somewhere in Asia, could be a Japanese or Korean phantasy copy from the 70ies.
