I am a new user and wanted to say hello and tell all about my SURPRISE !
was at the pawn shop a few days ago and came upon a guild d4 nt overall great condition! the only problem was the bridge has a crack on both sides of the saddle and to my joy only 74.00 out the door. strait to the shop she has gone. one question there is a name on the pick guard ??? also on dating this the serial # is lower than the starting # that I found.
sweet little guitar and I have yet to get to know her.
Thanks

Well, first of all, welcome aboard!

One possible way to find the date of manufacture is to use a flashlight and a mirror to inspect the inside of your guitar. Most Guilds have a date stamp somewhere on the inside, most often on the neck block or on the inside of the top.

There is nobody in the world with more knowledge about Guild guitars than forum member Hans Moust. He has helped many of us, myself included, to date our guitars when all else has failed. Just give him the serial number and he can tell you what you want to know.
