Cool. So how do these single coils sound? Compared to a Strat for instance.....
The pups are DiMarzio SDS-1s.
They compare to a P-90, I'm told. I don't know much about P-90s so I can't compare.
They push the front end of the amp a bit harder, as they are higher output than a standard strat pup. They do clean up nicely however, if you use your volume control.
I had installed a set of these in a '70s strat (back in the 'mod your guitar' '70s) and would use that guitar whenever I wanted a humbucker-type tone but still keep the single-coil cut and vibrato.
I like them. YMMV, IMO!
