My first Guild: T-100D

Hi! Thanks for adding me to the forum. I very excited to join the ranks of Guild owners. I've had this guitar for a few weeks and I can't stop playing it.

I've been trying to learn a bit about the guitar, but I'm not sure I've found the right place to look. The Guild site itself refers to a Guild Book, but it's $400.

I'd be grateful for any information or history this forum can offer.

Based on the Serial Number it looks like a 1967 Guild T100d. It looks like it was right on the cusp on the switch from NJ to RI.

Some things I'm curious about:

• Is it 1967?
• Would this have had a pickgaurd originally?
• What would this finish be called - most I've seen are cherry, burst or blonde?
• What would the pick-ups be?

I would hazard a guess that it has been refinished as I don't think the "custom" tinted stains started until the Starfire series. What is the model number on the label? That should indicate the finish.

Just as a point of reference here is a photo of my 1966 T-100D in Sunburst.

The label is very hard to read, but I did notice it says N.J. So assume it was built there?

Nice T-100D! I would agree with GOG that it most likely is refinished and is missing the pickguard. All parts appear original. The bridge looks original, but I can't truly verify from the picture. It was originally not screwed down to the top as it appears from your picture.

Regardless, that's a great player, and I'm glad you're loving it. Congratulations, and welcome to the forum! :C)
