I feel like we've been down this path recently.

I always stop and listen with anticipation to the solo that begins Long Time (Boston). About 2:30.

The solo that is the segue between Son of Orange County and More Trouble Every Day (Zappa/Mothers) always makes me stop and listen. This is perhaps not the best rendition but you can watch Napoleon Murphy Brock and Ruth Underwood (in a halter top cause if I don't mention it, someone else will) so the entertainment value is there. Start about 3:00 if you lack time or patience.

This solo to me is the definition of rock and roll. Screaming guitar with everthing on 10 (or maybe 11).

So I did! I suppose I could have used the search function...

I could change the title to "Favorite Guitar Solo Player."

Oh, we've been down this path before!

Dread, you started this same thread and posted the exact same thing 3 years ago :D

Well do you remember what you had for breakfast? Who prepared it? Do you remember how the ingredients were procured? I thought not. Me neither. So I will give him a pass and give you the assignment of seeing who posted in both threads and whether it was the same solo. :)

Geezers 🙊 😅

I think it's well worth another thread, since there are soooo many contributions - impossible to choose a favourite. Over the years my preferences shifted from crazy shredders to more soulful players. If I had to pick one tonight it might be by Albert King in this version of "Answer To The Laundromat Blues".

Ask me again tomorrow, I'll probably list something completely different.

Yes, actually. Frosted Flakes, prepared by me, ingredients out of the box. 🥣

Pass accepted 👍 , assignment declined. ❌

Can I go with an " Instrumental introduction " to a song ? It's just the guitar player, so it's really solo. Here goes:

That solo made the song for me. As an overplayed radio hit at the time, I looked forward to the solo at least. Geissman kills it!
