Hi! I just got my second vintage Guild and this one seems to raise questions, different ones than my first Guild lol.

So I just got a 1972 F47, and the color is amber with a slight burst. I've already read here that there isn't a lot of documentation on bursts into the 70s, but here ya go!

Also, the model stamp says F212! I guess someone wasn't paying attention!

Welcome to LTG and congrats on your F-47! Love that body shape for acoustic guitars. Enjoy!

Hello jays2,

Welcome! Do you know the history of that guitar? I believe that I see several top-crack repairs and it looks like it had at least a top-refinish.

Also a slightly longer pickguard that may have been part of the restoration job.

Show us a photo of the back of the instrument!

The F-212 ink stamp indicates that they used a rim that was originally intended for an F-212; somewhat unusual, but not unheard of.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Well that's interesting. I
got it yesterday in Toronto, from someone who bought it a couple years ago also near Toronto.

Here's my other Guild, with oddities. The label said 3, and I bought it with a 1/2 version tailpiece. So I bought a bigsby for it. Then I researched the serial number and it told me it's a starfire 2 lol
