Once I was living in an apartment with no ac, and, being poor, tried to keep cool by drinking cheap beer next to a fan. Getting a full can of brew, i tripped over the cord, landing on my face, knocking over the fan and spilling my beer into it.

I hate being the "fall guy" when the Schlitz hits the fan...

We tended to be Sears people. I remember both catalogs at Christmas but only recall patronizing Sears brick and mortar stores.

K-Mart

They never seemed to be the first choice for shopping. Whatever niche they occupied in my life has been reluctantly replaced with a similarly named retailer with a name beginning with W.

I believe the closest to me are one member in the mountains south of me and Tom all the way in Lost Wages.

I know I tortured the language but they are pretty mini. I’m at a course at an Army base and the hotel is run by Holiday Inn but it clearly started life as temporary quarters.

I'm coming to the conclusion that without having a place at the beach anymore I'm much more capable of (and I get more enjoyment from) living in a multi-week burst of cold weather than hot. Used to be I'd just drag my chair into the ocean and enjoy a hot day just by constantly going in the water.
