Funky retro kitsch cool, or severely ugly duckling? I won't comment on the location of the bridge pickup (or did I just do that?)

It does seem like someone put a lot of ideas into a blender and out popped a guitar.

From https://guildguitars.com/g/starfire-i-jet-90-satin-white/

It also comes in black and white.

"Roaring to the lead of the pack comes an all-new contender: the Starfire I Jet90. Born from the iconic Guild models of yesteryear and raised with rebellious, free-spirited individuality, the Starfire I Jet90 combines the classic Starfire body shape with the slick, rugged aesthetic of Guild’s vintage 6 in-line headstock. Three Guild Franz P90 pickups anchored to a chambered mahogany center block have this baby primed for everything from crisp, vintage jazz tones to open-throttle overdrive. The six-way rotary switch allows players to dial in their preferred P90 combination for the right amount of bite to any riff, while switch position indicator pins (in the style of 1950’s Guilds) help keep the player on track. The Starfire I Jet90 comes equipped with a Guild Vibrato Tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge for added tonal expression and range of playability. Comes in satin black, satin white, and satin gold top."

I wonder which pickup combo can't be selected by the rotary switch. 3 singles, 3 pairs and All On comes to 7 in my way of counting.

I'll admit that I find the black one pretty sexy.

It's odd for sure, and this still falls under the Starfire I label somehow?

That would look better in gloss with a black headstock and pearloid logo. I kind if like it, but jeez, Walter, you ain't kidding about the pickup placement! Why would you want that bridge pickup so far towards the neck with TWO other pickups? Looks like there's enough room to mod it into a four pickup guitar, if you wanted.

I like the looks in gold and in black. Bridge pu indeed is placed far away from the bridge. On the Starfire I SC guitars the bridge pu seems to be in the same position. Guild followed the same "logic" here. If I make a comparison with other brands : the reverend jetstar 390 has also three pu and the bridge pu is also quite far away from the bridge. (Although still closer to the bridge than this Guild model.)

I'm good with and have a fondness for that headstock.
My favorite colors is the White with Black close behind. Looks like the pickup selection is single and in pairs but not all three. Kind of reminds me of the Fenders Coronodo series of archtop from the 60's but with the SF3 shape. Not sure I would buy one but that's only because of lack of room for more guitars. I do like the semihollow configuration.

It's a bit like what Fender did with the Parallel Universe and Alternate Reality series. Mix existing designs into something new. I mean why not. Mostly not for us here but at that low pricepoint it will probably find some new fans.

It reminds me of some Italian and Japanese guitars from the 60's, it does have a certain kitschy thing that's kind of cool in a way, and I do like that headstock. But the fact that it's not hollow and has that double roller Bigsby, and the weird pickup location(s) kind of kill it for my very personal taste.

I kinda like it, with that headstock it reminds me of a Trini Lopez or Dave Grohl model Gibson (moderator delete that word if inappropriate ;)).

I'd rather see an all-gold instead of gold top with black back.

When did they start with he "Stair-Step" Pickguard? Have we seen that yet? Oviously the pick-up location is to get all three "in" the Pickguard. Personally, although it might not be as accessible, I think it might have looked better with the rotary switch on the upper treble bout to balance things out.
