Late 1950s my mother was given this Blond Guild Electric Guitar. She is not in flawless condition but for 60+ years, she looks pretty good.

I do not have a lot of details, really none, she never told the story, but no model or serial number. 20220902_072933.jpgr.

WOW, that’s in real good condition for its age and looks incredible. Oh and welcome to LTG!, nice photos and story to introduce yourself with. Definitely stick around, you’ll learn quite a bit about it soon enough from others with the specifics. I just barely got the Guild book!, but it’s author surely knows your model # and can help if no others do. From the book, looks like an early Starfire or maybe the Ce-100? :)

Hello dmm663,

Welcome! From what I can see in the photos you have a T-100B-DP or T-100D-B depending on when exactly the guitar was completed in 'final assembly'. It seems to be original for the most part although I believe that the Kluson machineheads were added at a later date. From the specs I would say it was part of a rather big batch of T-100(D)s that had serial numbers in the #87xx-range, which would make it an instrument from 1959.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hello dmm663,

Welcome! Already answered in the 'Miscellaneous' section, but I can do it again here. Moderator ....... you can delete the posting in the 'Miscellaneous' section and move this one to the 'Archtop' section

Great information, thank you!!

It is unusual that there was no model or serial number printed on the label inside the guitar?

The information was written on the label, but sometimes the writing fades to the point that it is no longer visible. What is unusual is that there is no serial number on the back of the headstock; are you sure there is none? Can you make a close-up detail shot of the back of the headstock?

Sincerely,

The label is so dark and so clear, I find it hard to believe that the serial number and model number faded but the labeled didn't.

I'm not home but I'll snap a photo there is absolutely nothing on the back.

I have two ghost label guitars (a '59 F 30T and a '60 M 65) and while the printed labels are very clear, the info was evidently written in the disappearing
ink they were using at that time. Fountain ink was still used quite a lot even by the late '50s and not everyone was using a ballpoint pen.

Nice guitar.....mystery serial number and all.
I especially like that it has a set of those opaque amber yellow tone and volume knobs.....they showed up briefly in the late 50's on a few models.

Maybe an employee instrument that left the factory without a serial number? Regardles, it’s a beauty!

I have a suggestion. Years back I saw an Aristocrat without a sn stamped in the headstock. However under close examination a number was stamped into the base of the guitar underneath the harp stop.
You might find a marking there. Not sure why Guild marked it in that location.
