Just got a new F512 and now would like the group's opinion on what further setup and modification I may need to do.

Are there things that just tend to pop up with this model?

Or is it great right out of the box? I know banjos take some "playing in" to make their characters known.

But the last guitar I bought was a Martin 12 in 1970. Before that it was a D-50 I got in 1968, which is now considered a vintage instrument.

If this one ages half as well as either the Martin or the D-50, I'll be happy.

If that's a California made one, there might be a need to inspect any under-daddle pickups.

Also, it may be built heavy with a thick finish, which means don't give up if it sounds a little stiff and dull. Just play hell out of it and it will open up better.

Actually, it's one of the Tacoma ones, and looks and sounds great. I had an under-saddle pickup installed in it.

Need to play it more to get it to open up.

Tnx.
