As some of you know, I have numerous medical conditions that require regular visits to medical facilities. So, with several upcoming appointments, I was interested in how they would be dealt with. Bear in mind, even though CTs governor has been on top of the pandemic for a while, we have, last I saw, the fourth largest number of infected persons. So, here's what's what. My diabetic specialist changed my appointment to a phone call consultation, she will call me at the appointed time. My regular visit to Smilow Cancer Hospital has been changed to a video.one. However, not much can be done about the need for blood tests other than a trip to a lab. The one I usually use is closed to walk-ins, so I had to go to another one-fortunately we have several within a short distance, so only another 5 minutes drive. Here's what to expect if you need to go to a medical facility. I was met at the entrance by masked and gloved personnel who took my temperature before I was allowed inside. The, they enforced the distance by having chairs in front of the counter. The tech was also masked and gloved. I did learn from him that the lab I went to first is only doing covid-19 testing. I was in and out within 10 minutes an hadn't touched anything in that time, nevertheless, when I returned to my car I used hand sanitizer before leaving. All in all, actually a little easier and quicker than in normal times.
