This has been sitting in pieces my office for over a month. I just put a 3-prong cord on it, took a bunch of pics and put it back together. I haven't even turned it on yet. It needed pics because it's so pretty.

Was the Guild logo originally all red? Or did someone try to paint it?

Guild amps with 7591 tubes are great!

It interesting how Guild changed the control panel color on the early and later Mavericks. The early ones had deep red on the chrome chassis; the later ones had deep red with pink on the chassis. I think they did something simular to the Thunderstar bass amp heads but the were colored in blue on the later models.

Is that possibly backwards @matsickma?

This one's got pots from very early in 1970 and has the pink.

This one from DRC was listed as 1971:

There's currently two listed as 1971 on Reverb, one with pink and one with chrome. Of course I have no idea how people are dating these amps. I'd love to get some facts so I can include them in the eventual article.

Did those have labels with serial numbers inside on the cabinet? Otherwise not sure what would rule. Speaker date codes? Pot date codes?
So yes, there could be definitely wrong dates when people offer them...

Serial number is stamped on the chassis, but I don’t know of any reference.

Well... maybe I do have it backwards? I owned a red/ chrome amp first then aquired red/ pink amp. My luck-of-the-draw likely lead to my assumption of which came first.
I'll pull it out this weekend and get additional info. Shame I didn't do a better job documenting the items acquired then let go.

Thanks!

Yeah I learned to document everything after too many “I should have taken pictures!” Moments. Now they’re “I should have taken better pictures!”moments. :)
