I just had to post this. One of the coolest things I’ve seen recently. Martin had a double-neck once upon a time, but this one uses the Grand J body style (Guild-inspired)! Plus they continue with the “Guild” pinning of the strings (low octaves closer to the saddle).

(and, no, it's not a photoshop!) :D

For those who own the other Grand J models, this certainly will garner your attention! :) @Brucebubs ??

I have a Grand J40-12 and also owned a Grand J-35 for few years. I think I like them separately rather than together. :geek:

I thought this was Photoshopped when I first saw it too. And there's also something queasily Escher-esque about it.

It's not totally new for Martin. John Mayer played a Martin double neck on his solo US tour in 2023.

totally. that’s the one I’m familiar with, GG. Could be wrong, but I think this one was built prior to the Grand J body style. Anyway, it’s certainly not an understated 28-style (which I really love).

edit: looking at it though, it looks like it might be the Grand J, and it doesn’t look at all vintage...

I once had my hands on a Landola double-neck - someone I knew had one - it was downright terrible . . .

Action on necks was somewhat ok - but there was nothing about the sound to write a letter to your mom . . .

Thanks ... but I think I'll pass on this one.

That's what I was thinking. Titanium bracing?
?? Did you see Ti bracing in the specs somewhere, Cougs. My read is that it is (just) wood. Lots of reinforcement where needed, though! :)

Ah, so, I think the video is saying that John Mayer borrowed the (original) double-neck that I’d seen years ago on tour, but that this new 28DN model is based on it with a Grand J body. As for the body style of the original, I thought it predated the Grand J but (and was definitely not a 28 series), but it looks like a Grand J to me.
