I'll leave it for the Guild experts to do all the different sizes and shapes. do keep in mind that an F212 and an F212XL are different beasts. also, not all F sizes are the same.

OK, thanks!

Does anyone want to take a stab at the difference in specs. between the F112, F212 and F212XL? No hurry. I've got at least a year!

I think a lot of it has to do with application - stage, recording, personal enjoyment, etc. For personal enjoyment, it's going to be a subjective taste issue. Mahogany, maple & rosewood will all have different combinations that will strike individuals differently. If buying used, how the guitar was played previously will affect how the guitar's sound "aged". Guitars strummed with a heavier hand will have more pronounced bass than a Leo Kottke fingerpicked guitar, which will develop a sweeter treble.

For recording, I've found that maple is the easiest to mix with other instruments, since the brighter wood offsets the boom of the jumbo body.

I own a 70's F412 sunburst that eats Taylor, Martin and Gibson 12 strings for lunch.

YUP! 8)

My JF65-12 (same as F412 but with abalone rosette and ebony bridge) rules the roost around these parts.

If anyone is counting, this is a vote for mahogany jumbos.

Small stab: The F212XL has a wider body; an inch or so on the lower bout, not sure about length.

F112 v. F212 bindings: I'm sure there are other differences but the 60s and 70s F212s have white binding on the body, many F112s have tortoise shell ? - darker binding.
