That guy constantly offers mandos on the bay with more inlay than wood!

yeah, and they fall apart before long, too. All kinds of complaints on these products.

Hey Dan.
Slight off-topic veer ( ) but I've finally figured out that in your avatar and with the angle of the photo, you bear a striking resemblance to Jim Zorn.
And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I've met him and he's a nice guy, and I'm sure there are those who would say the same about you. :D

OK, back to our regularly scheduled thread,
Joe

Jeez Joe!!! Talk about a guy with attention to detail! After a quick google, it turns out that Jim & I share the same "front uncontrollable hair flip"!  Good catch!

Yes, that was the kicker!
Photographers pay attention to detail (at least I try to).
I saw him in a local grocery store a couple of years ago and that 'flip' was what caught my eye!

Thanks for the confirmation,
Joe

Probably meet him before the "Skins" when he was still with the Seahawks.
That is correct!
Actually, I'd like to see him back in Seattle. Couldn't be much worse than the current head coach.
And then, maybe Steve Largent could come out of retirement and..... oops! There I go dreaming again!

I never got into mandolins, and I confess that this thread hasn't helped me, either. They are so annoying, brash, in your face, portable, light. And you'd think, by looking in my stable, there would be a place for them. The only way I can explain it has to do with an insight I gained about seven years ago. I began a search for an old mentor and hero... a guy about ten years older than me, at university, who had a Martin D-28 and played and sang the old Bob Dylan songs (pre 1970). I was just getting started on that era. I was disappointed when I located him, because it was in the Obits. But I knew the town that his brother lived in, and I contacted him for a visit. He obliged, and at an early point indicated that my long-lost buddy had been playing mandolin in a bluegrass band. I asked why not the 6-string guitar, and he replied that there was a table saw accident had he had lost two fingers. So I goes to myself... there you have it... mandolin players are just guitar players who have lost a couple of fingers.

Best thing that could happen to this one!
Why am I suspecting that maybe these aren't made to played, they're made to be "DIS-played"?
Buckle rash would certainly be a concern

No problem. That's usually tolerated if the subjects are different. At least on LTG no one has flamed me with instructions on how to use the Edit function. Besides threads like this are still allowed.
