"Made in Germany" harp tailpiece.

When did Guild switch from the German made cast tailpieces which seem more substantial to the cheaper cast ones?

That's definitely a question for @hansmoust ! (The German one was made by "Johann Müller & Sohn" in Erlangen/Germany.)

That begs the question - where (and by what company) was the other tailpiece made?

I'm assuming they are all cast as they are all nonmagnetic, (except for the non-hinged tailpieces). The German ones are a lot heavier. Could they be plated brass?

Possibly moved from plated brass to plated zinc alloy (ZAMAC)?
