Here's my 1969 M85 II serial number BB194. It looks to be about the same color only slightly darker.

Hello Bluelizzard,

Doesn't look like the same finish to me. Your finish has some kind of a 'burst' to it, albeit a very faded burst.

I believe the Bass from Retrofret is an 'Amber' finished one; an even color without the 'burst' effect.
Much more orange while your finish has a redish/pinkish hue to it.

I checked out that bass in person, and it was definitely a solidly red color, and perhaps less orange looking than the pictures might suggest...it looked, to my eye, as I would expect a guild cherry finish to look on a maple body, though I'd only previously seen the finish on mahogany bodies.
