Back to the Truarc, it‘s obviously made for the Aristocrat. I‘ve browned the bridge and this way I like the look. Sounds paramount.

Still got some annoying tuning issues- it‘s definitely not the bridge and I‘ve reworked the nut (slots were a tad too low and the whole nut was too high). „Bending“ behind the nut works without detuning.

Tuning issues are 99% a nut problem so I‘m a bit clueless. The guitar is proper stringed and the strings are stretched. Any ideas?

That Truarc bridge is gorgeous. How did you change the color? I love that look! I have also decided that I will go ahead and remove some wood at the bridge pickup mount in order to lower it by @ 2mm. I'll need to get a properly sharpened chisel before I do this work.

Brass Black from Birchwood Casey. Easy to use. It‘s a copper Serpentune with a fantastic tone but the polished copper didn‘t matched the goldtop. Now it looks darkened and antique.

May I ask where you sourced those pins filling the pick guard mounting holes? Can I get them from Guild? Looks much nicer than an open hole in the body. I'm not a fan of the pick guards on these either.

I‘m a sucker for bridges and a big fan of all those marvelous bar bridges from Truarc, dBridges or Compton. But since I‘ve heard that piano like rounded attack of the new Collings 470JL with a TOM bridge and NYLON saddles I couldn’t resist:

^ Faber 59 ABR aged nickle with real nylon saddles.

I‘m very curious. I really love the tone from my Aristocrat but I guess there’s a bit more detail in rounding the heights possible besides more fine intonation.

Yes, but it’s a handmade guitar...Typical Custom Shop price range.
Do you remember the price tag of the american patriarch M-75 ;-)? @SFIV1967, you should hear it!

On my main player (a '62 X175 with Franz pickups and a Bigsby) I have an ABR-1 style bridge with three brass saddles under the wound strings, and three nylon saddles on the plain strings.

What is the " benefit" of nylon saddles ? In my noob mind they have "less mass and therefore less tone ?

Unless you go to weird extremes (styrofoam?) there's not really "less tone", mostly just "different tone".

And we're talking very subtle differences here, of course. To my ears, the nylon saddes are a tiny little bit less agressive in the inital attack, a little "softer". Hard not to go into wine tasting BS adjectives here, ha. Could be I'm full of crap and human ears can't really hear a difference, but I'm telling myself I can. In any case, you do break less strings with nylon saddles! :)

Yes, even Joe Bonamassa use the nylon saddles that way. Dunno, I‘ll have to see if I like it. But I‘ve got a feeling it’s exactly what I want for my Aristocrat:)
