Struggling mightily to find one. Please let me know if you have one or know someone who has one they are selling.

If I'm not mistaken GAD means made in China? What do you think of this one?

I'm looking for the Grand Orchestra sized one, not the Jumbo. I believe it was only made between 2007-2011. I check Reverb every day. There is literally only 1 listed anywhere online that I've been able to find, and it's overpriced and out if Europe.

These a very hard to find. I've been looking for about 9 months. I did find this:

http://www.cmcguitars.com/guild-gadf40p-grand-orchestra-acoustic-guitar/

The GAD-F40-P has a 1 3/4 nut so I passed on it.

But if you want a real F-40 Valencia:

http://www.sprucetreemusic.com/product/guild-f-40-valencia/

Great price for a new F-40.

Another very good option is a CV-1 or CV-2. Same size. There are some known issues with this model, particularly the ones with the tape over serial number. Guitar Center has a couple for sale right now.

If your on a tight budget take a look at the new OM models. I just acquired an OM-260CE Deluxe Burl from Musician's Friend from the Open Box sales. Quite a nice little guitar; plays and sounds great.

Good luck with your search.

Aren't the Westerly Series guitars just renamed GADs?

Not that I’m an expert, GAD, but that’s my impression

Is GAD "Guild Asian Guitar"? Always wondered what it stood for. I know what the other GAD is! Lol.

When talking about product lines GAD means Guild Acoustic Design and was the name of the first series of Guild acoustics made in China. Guild stopped using the name and had one or two other naming conventions that referred to the Made in China instruments. One of the conventions was a model number beginning with one. Not that I know for sure they made one but a F-130 would be the model of the made in China equivalent of the (made in America) F-30. At some point the Westerly Collection tag was introduced to distinguish the made in China instruments.

It is not really correct to say that a Westerly Collection instrument is just a renamed GAD. Th available models have changed and the specs have varied as well. There seems to be a belief that the GAD generation of MIC Guilds is more desirable than the Westerly Collection Guilds. I don't recall all the opinions behind this belief but I recall comments about wood quality and construction techniques changing and thus being a factor.

Is GAD "Guild Asian Guitar"?
This is what Guild explained in the 2005 catalog:

In 2011 the "all-new GAD series" was introduced! So the GAD name continued! But the 1xx model names started.

This is what the 2015 press release said:

It's funny, many Chinese made articles are often looked at as sub par. Much like the Japanese goods pre late 1970s. But as we had more exposure to some of the guitars that were made tnere, even in 1960s, we found some were really good. Soon some where found to be great. Much of this came down to very, very, good quality control. I think we are seeing the same now with China, Indonesia. Korea is producing some really great stuff.
