Has anyone seen this yet? IMHO she is one of the greatest female vocalists in pop/rock history, if not the greatest. Her versatility was amazing, and of course she sold millions of records!

Not to mention some of the most righteous thighs ever! A young me was so smitten, I went out and bought the picture disc (remember them?).

I've seen some good reviews for the movie, and it's playing at my local art cinema. I definitely plan on seeing it. She was arguably the greatest vocalist (male or female) of her time.

Can a mod change the title, please? "The Sound of MY Voice". Thanks!

Yes, that picture disc did not last long in the record store I worked at when that came out! "Living in the USA" was her third #1 album, we played it all day!

The store even got a promotional poster of that photo, which the manager made sure to take home as soon as it came off the store wall...

Love Rock Docs. She had (has) a great voice. She no longer sings I think due to Parkinson's.

I currently have two Linda songs in rotation, both from Get Closer album. This is one, of many, favorites. One of the best voices in pop/rock history!!!!

She also honored her father's Mexican-American heritage with Canciones de Mi Padre, the largest-selling non-English language album in U.S. history.

She is one of the legends.. She had Billy Joe Shaver as her opener on tour years ago.. After one of the shows she sent one of her people to summon him backstage to come see her as she wanted to meet him.. He opted out.. Guess he felt like she should've come to him.. Either way, though I idolize Shaver, he should've been more congenial in my opinion.. In his book he references this and expresses regret for not going to see her.

That's not really the classiest move.

Performers have egos. But if you are the "opening act" don't snub the headliner ! I've never heard of Billy Joe Shaver. Linda... oh yeah. Why oh why she hung out with moonbeam, I've never know.

I watched this film on New Years Day evening on CNN. It brought back some great memories of attending concerts back in the 1970's. There's interesting commentary from Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Peter Asher and Emmylou Harris. It does a great job of capturing the scene around the Troubadour nightclub in the early 70's and the beginnings of country/rock music with the Birds, Buffalo Springfield and the Eagles. Recommended! :encouragement:

It's getting multiple plays on CNN. I saw a little bit of it last night and I'm set up to record it in full on Saturday.

I guess I'm in the minority here. Always thought she was a mediocre singer and as of late don't care to hear about her politics.

I'll bet she sings better than you and don't know or care what her politics are.
