Life in the '70's...

Cool little video that I had to watch more than once. The box of "Quisp" and the box of "Freakies" made me laugh - I used to love those!

I never heard of either of those but, by 1972 I was in the Air Force. I don't remember my boys eating them either and one was born in '73, the next in '75. Were they perhaps regional?

Was Quisp and Quake still around in the 70s? I remember them more of a 60s thing, with b&w TV commercials.

EDIT, looked it up. Quisp lasted until '79. I guess I'd move on by then. I don't remember either as being overly tasty.

I recall it being just like Kap'n Krunch, but saucer-shaped, so less likely to injure the roof of your mouth.

Exactly! Quake also might have also injured the roof of your mouth!

There was a Saturday morning cartoon with the two characters also:

And here's some of their commercials - a blast from the past!

Speaking of Cap'n Crunch and the '70's, anybody remember John Draper and his magic whistle?

"John Draper fiddles with the mouthpiece of the little blue box on the table, blowing into it over and over again. It’s 1972, and a nervous Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak look on anxiously, hoping he can make their makeshift device work. If he’s successful, they’ll be able to call anywhere in the world for free, manipulating the complex phone system with little more than a series of perfect tones. This is Draper’s gift to the world, and his curse."

Yep. He also turned out to be quite a creep, as mentioned in the Wiki.
