Yeah, I'm bummed. I'm a big fan of The Band. Loved the way Levon put all he had into his singing,,,, while playing the drums and many other Instruments.

Big, Big Levon Fan!!! :(

We are loosing too many of our great artists lately.
Seems like they pass on in groups.
Perhaps they just need each other to jam with on the other side.

Very sad news.
Some comfort. I suppose, in the fact that he was able to see and feel the deep appreciation for him and his music by his many fans through his website.
Good too that he has had that extra time since surgery to put things in order.
What a nice guy and rich musical life.......Sad to know he is gone.

Levon was one of those rare individuals who really touched people with his music. What a great run he had, so sad to to have him leave us.

"Levon Helm was a man out of his time, yet in perfect time. He played the drums funny cause he had to sing at the same time, and he sang funny because he had to play the drums at the same time. And I feel lucky to have been in the world at the same time. Nothing's changed brother, they still take the very best."

I read that somewhere.
