I can't stop myself...first it was the Jr. Got a great deal from Musician's Friend. The Specials are the same price. I chatted with a customer service rep, and got another 15% off. I had to do it.

This guitar came set-up great right out of the box (my Jr, not so much)

Figured I would add a Bigsby. Hey, why not? 8)

I like! Is that a "regular" Special, or one of the 1960's editions? Very nice!

Russ, how are you liking it? Gibson was blowing these out because after the raids last year, they could not use rosewood, so for a little while they used baked maple on the fingerboards to simulate rosewood until they could get up and running again with rosewood for 2013. Personally, I think a maple neck on an LP Special sounds like a great idea, but I'd love to hear your first hand experience before pulling the trigger.

I had one about 15 years ago and I loved it! Looks great with the Bigsby.

Kslam, I really like this guitar. The paint job is very "utilitarian" but the guitar is a monster. There is nothing at all wrong with this guitar...and I can usually find something that needs attention on any guitar

I must confess though, I took the Bigsby off. It was just too big and clunky for me. My wrist was banging all over that thing. It was just uncomfortable for me. To make it work on this guitar, I would have to directly mount it to the body as far back from the bridge as possible. Also, the Bigsby added 6/10th's of a pound which felt even heavier as all the weight was low on the body
