Great version!

With a Bob Geldof look-a-like on guitar!

Haha! That's Dominic Miller. He's been Sting's touring guitarist for a long time, along with a gazillion other people.

I like Lady Gaga's interpretation, mixed with Sting's classic Police style. Fun results. She's super talented, and works her butt off.

well, count me in the minority of not digging it. sounds too forced, and too different from the original version, which i really dug.

that album was so huge. like 1983?

still, fun, thanks for posting it. she can really sing, has a great gutteral expression. i remember hearing her sing star spangled banner at a super bowl a few years ago and i thought it was the best version of that song i had ever heard. just incredible.

Westerly, I’m in agreement with you on s few counts. She is super talented no doubt. I too loved her rendition of the SSB which likely gained her many new fans, and I’m not crazy about this rendition for a similar reason. The Police to me were all about the music, the emotion, the realism of just being great musicians doing their thing. Sting’s voice is so freakishly high and energetic. Their music had a raw, honest energy to it. In this version Gaga just seemed to be “overacting” in an attempt to create energy. That to me was out of place. I get it she’s also a performance artist, and I really like her stuff, but not this one so much.

Or she could just be giving it her ALL and POUNDING out the song on that damn piano and thinking this was a good opportunity to join with Sting on a song she remembers growing up with and she's just grooving so much...... caring little what judgements you may throw at her. I'm gonna take that one...... GREAT version of a GREAT song and yeah!!!

I never payed that much attention to Lady Gaga, for what would seem stupid and uninformed of me about her, but I may have overlooked a real talent possibly, and level head. Whoed-a-thunk.

Energetic little thing, isn't she? :p I had always dismissed her as well, then I saw a fair amount of her version of the movie "A Star Is Born" and realized she really could sing.

Who's the drummer...regular touring-man-for-hire, can't bring up the name in my mind (mind?)...played with Jeff Beck for a while...

The SSB is getting no respect of late, good on you, my lady. "There I said it".
