The listing is still up, but who knows for how long. I contacted the seller yesterday, and he sent me some bigger/better pictures. The guitar is beautiful! After talking on the phone for a while we struck a deal, and I should have the guitar the middle of next week.

The only problem is that the guitar is coming with no case, and from what I understand Bluesbirds and Blues 90s won't fit in Les Paul type cases as the lower bout is a little too big. Some sources peg the lower bout at 13", some say 13 3/4", and I won't know which until it arrives. Does anyone know where to source one of these, or is this going to be another F20 wild Goose chase? TIA!

Well Sandy, after paying such a hefty price for that thing, I'd have demanded a case with it !!

What a score ....... congratulations.

Still saving for the Blues 90 I'm buying from a nice man in The Netherlands.

Thanks guys, and I did post about this yesterday, so all y'all had yer chance! Really though, it's the first electric that I'll have without a wound third string so we'll see how it goes. If I like it I'll keep it, if not I'll sell it here for basically what I paid for it (so you have a chance Coastie!). I really would like to find a case for it though, so if any of you kind folks have a Blues 90 (or even a Bluesbird with the same body), could you take some measurements so I can commence the search?

Well it looks like the Guild part is basically impossible to find, but this one seems to be tailor made for the Blues 90. The other major outlets don't seem to carry this particular model, but at least Sweetwater does, and I like them a bit better than the others anyway. Thanks Coastie!

Friendly price too !

Always a plus.

S-100 owners note : 'Birds / S-100s share a common case, so, one of these 'ere cases should fit the S-100.

Blues 90s are fine instruments. Here's my greenie:

A Les Paul case for sure doesn't fit. Soft cases aren't too hard to come by if you get desperate though. Nice snag for 5 bills.

Thanks Rob, and I love the green on yours! That Gator case should be pretty much an exact fit. To wit:

Interior Dimensions:

Body
Lower Bout Width: 13 3/4"
Middle Bout Width: 9 1/2"
Upper Bout Width: 10"
Body Length: 21"

Headstock
Width: 5 1/2"
Length: 10 1/2"

Length
Total Length: 42"

Heights
Bottom Body: 3 1/2"
Top Body: 3 1/2"
Headstock Start: 3"
Headstock End: 3"

Compared to Coastie's measurements:

Length 41"

Upper Bout 10"

Waist 9 1/4"

Lower Bout 13 3/4"

Depth 3"

Worst case scenario I can send it back, but it sure looks like it'll work. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Ah, the only reason I say "Les Paul case" is because I have a TKL one from 2006. Here is my failed experiment along with some pics of the two side by side. Of course, this is a "Gibson USA" case that came with that LP (bought new). I think these were all Westerly guitars so I doubt there is a huge difference in dimensions between them.

Here are the two together to give an idea:

And the Blues 90 sitting atop that "Gibson USA" case:

Wow, it really is quite a bit larger than a LP. I'm really glad that Blues 90s and Bluesbirds aren't solid bodies; can you imagine what they'd weigh?
