Hey guys,

I've been looking closely at this baby, and I'm wondering if i should place a bid on it.
I want a Jet Star, it's not the exact color I was looking for (cherry red) but close enough...looks to be in good condition.
I wish I could actually have the guitar in hand and try it out (as I've never had a chance to hold a Jet Star). I'm a bit low on cash these days but the price seems decent to me.
I realize that by asking about it here someone else might just go bid on it, but I figured that anyone really interested in getting one already saw it...come on, we all check ebay everyday dont we ;-)
Any feedback/advice would be very much appreciated!

That looks pretty tempting, thomaxe. Do you need reasons to buy it or to stop yourself from buying it? :D

Jet Stars don't show up too frequently, so I'm not real sure about the price, but it looks reasonable. If ya can't touch it before bidding maybe you just want to ask the seller a ton of questions. Pictures look pretty good overall.

Good luck on ya!

Lot's of nonpaying and otherwise problem bidders on fleabay nowadays...

You might politely inquire of the seller as to why it is relisted, if you are really interested in the guitar.

Hey Guildmark!
Thanks for the info.
That one looks in pretty good shape too; the only thing that bothers me is the bridge tail piece doesn't have a chrome cover on it like on the original, as stated by the seller it seems to have been changed to a Gibson one. I'm not very knowledgeable on changing these kind of things so I'm not sure how complicated it would be to switch it back to a chrome covered one.
Its tempting, but I see there are 8 more days before the end of the auction, whereas the other auction is finishing today and still has no bid.
I'm torn!!
Its hard to decide.

Ah! Torn between two lovelies. Analysis Paralysis. Oh, what to do! what to do!
My work here is finished. :D

Replacing that tailpiece should be an easy and inexpensive fix for a good guitar tech/luthier. Finding the correct tailpiece might be the problem, though. If you do go for the red one, there's always a chance you can find the tailpiece later. There are some pretty good sources right here on LTG.

Good luck!

You'll be left with some pretty deep pits after the tune-o-matic on that red one. I can't say I've seen one of those clamshell bridge/tailpieces around. Dreamlander is still looking for a cover for the one on his S-90.

I think the first one is the sexier one, I'd hit it, in fact, I was looking at it earlier myself
that bridge on the second one kind of looks wrong
but I can imagine both are fine guitars to play
