I know some of you folks in the New England area have probably heard of JB. Can anyone hook me up with a download of the song he did about the Titanic; actually that whole album would be great? Seems to be rather elusive.

Peace

HAH!

I can just barely remember that song/artist from my high school days...

Punch line something to the effect "I ain't gonna make rope no more!..."

"...and she went on down..."

Sort of an Arlo-Guthrie-like song, though a little more animated.

Would be good to hear it again!

Thanks for the links. BTW, they call it the Legend of U.S.S. Titanic when in reality it was the RMS Titanic. Not an American vessel. Built in Belfast. My favorite line is "I'm gonna move you baby"!!

Hadn't thought about that one in years. A local college station used to play it every Saturday night when I was in high school.

With recent posts about the Edmund Fitzgerald and the Titanic, I'm wondering if there's been a song written about the Exxon Valdez.
Anyone?

I can email you an mp3 of Titanic if you want. I don't have the rest of the LP though.

Thanks. I saw that one but I was hoping for something a little more original to commemorate that bit of infamy.

Jamie Brockett -- Man, there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I used to catch him in the folk clubs in Cambridge and Boston back in my college days.

I haven't heard Brocket's version in years, but I remember it as being based a lot on the Leadbelly version. He recorded it a couple times, I think the best is from the Last Sessions, there is an edited version on Youtube.
