"Ghost Ships In The Sky."
A sailor man went cruising on a bright and breezy day
Upon a reef he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mystic fleet appeared up in the sky
Floating in the atmosphere, their keels were high and dry...
Second verse, anyone?
"Ghost Sailors In The Sky."
A sailor man went cruising on a bright and breezy day
Upon a reef he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mystic fleet appeared up in the sky
Floating in the atmosphere, their keels were high and dry...
Their anchors were still hanging and their props were standing still
Their chimneys were soot black and the smoke your nose could feel
But the hulls were rusting faster than the men could scrape them clean
The sailors tried to patch the holes - while no success was seen
Ship ohoy - ship ohoy - ghost sailors in the sky
They sailed to every harbour that is known upon this earth
All the way from Dikson - via Smyley - south to Perth
And everywhere they saw the taverns next to landing stage
But the taps were all dry - and no music was heard
As he came near to the first mate he heard him call his name
If you sailor wanna save your soul from this never ending trade
Then turn away and then a landlubber you shall be
Or else you will always be - a pris’ner of the sea.
Ship ohoy - ship ohoy - ghost sailors in the sky
