The book you posted follows the company and guitars from the beginning (1953) and goes through the year 1977. There is a volume II in the works we are told, but when it will be available or how far it will cover are still a mystery to us.
While I do use the other two books in the link that Chris linked to, I use Hans' book 99% of the time. The other two can have some good info, but they're also loaded with inaccuracies.
Yeah. Hans's from the start to 1977. Beesley for the later years because there is really nothing else. There are a couple of books that touch on Guild - did Gruhn write one - but they cover a very small niche.
Han's book is usually available if you budget $150 but if your budget is less you need to be actively searching. Beesley was commanding some interesting prices when it was in print because some dealers would price it as if it wasn't but I have no idea what it would go for now. I think it is one of those things that dealers know if you are looking for it you won't find it elsewhere and charge accordingly.
Thanks for the replys - Luckily I have the Han's book pictured in first post
but never seen the Beesley book.
Looks like that is going to be tough to attain.
Gruhn’s Guide to Vintage Guitars has a lot of Guild info & good reliability. I have Volume 2, which goes through 1999, and it’s been helpful on many occasions. Not sure how far Vol 3 expands beyond ‘99.
Edit Note: Vol 3 is organized differently from the earlier versions. Many people prefer how Vol 2 is structured.
