Actually, I'd also / or like to get a D-15 in nice shape, I see a few of these come up on the -bay.

I just happen to have a D-15 and it's in great shape, but I'll confess that it needed help when I got it. I had to install the Bridge Doctor to remedy the bellying and it flattened the top just fine. I also took down the exceedingly (for me) glossy surface on the top, back, and sides. It was blinding! It looks nice with the new satin finish.
It's my shop guitar but it's still the first "tool" I grab when I get there in the morning.

Onward,
Joe

Man, if your considering the guitar, look at the top, it kinda bothers me. The light is bent around the bridge as though the top is arched due to a warp issue. Anyone else think that from the photo? I would want more photos before bidding on it for sure.

Also, the placement of the serial # on the headstock....the two pictures really don't look like the same number or headstock.....maybe its just me.

You could be right about the slight belly behind the bridge, c70man. It's not too uncommon in a guitar of that age. The best remedy I've heard for it is a Bridge Doctor. Not too expensive, esily installed and very effective. There is a lot of discussion on them in the LTG archives. But I don't recall one being used on an archback. :? :?:

Re: the serial number: one of the photos is blurred enough to be questionable but the legible serial number in the good photo matches the one on the label in the soundhole. I think I'd be pretty confident with that.

All of this could be resolved with a good hands-on inspection, of course, but if a decision is to be made on the photos, that's my 2¢. Where's my change?

And as far as the arch back, look through the sound hole, and see if there are any braces. On an archback guitar, there would be none. Such is the case with this model.
