Just got the latest shipment. This is the price of living in the desert. You wanna keep your house or guitar room at maybe 40%?? Good luck, spend some money with two whole house humidifiers and also soundhole humidifiers..... that's the only way. Just got the latest shipment of wicks!! This is a box of 24 for 210 bucks!! And then you gotta scrub the humidifiers before you put new wicks in.... what a chore. The price we pay, right?? Heat/a/c and all the modifiers that suck the moisture from the air.......

Oh and bars are closed again. Back to phase I or whatever.....

Here in MA, the opposite right now. Humidity pushing 70 the last several days, heavy rain and humidity overnight tonight. A/C keeping it down...

I'm sorry the bars are closed (again).

That was never a problem here because take out was allowed and we could socially distance and visit in the parking lot and now we are allowed to sit outside with a beer. Not like Before but it still scratches the itch.

Can't empathize with your lack of humidity either. Maybe you should consider a couple of swamp coolers to get some of your house cooling done. A lot cheaper to operate than ordinary A/C and restores moisture to the air as a bonus.

Tom, are those Honeywell filters? I think they may be the same as the ones I use.

I order them through Sunbeam, a brand of Jarden Consumer Solutions, which also has the company name Holmes stuck in there somewhere, Ralph. Been buying from them for years. Sometimes they'll have a BOGO (buy one get one) but haven't seen that in years. So now I'm just happy to pay $8.95 each for them. If you buy them at Sears (my humidifiers are from Kenmore) they're $21 each!!! Let me know if you need measurements. Here's the website I used: HOLMES

I have a Honeywell, but buy a generic brand. Mounted, it's round, but in the package flat, it measures 8" X 14 1/2".

We can go inside and sit at a table and order booze and whatever, but just can't sit at the bar. I like sitting at the bar. We know all the bartenders and they're (most of them) friends of ours so, sitting at a table out in the dining room is no fun for us. So I guess we'll go back to saving money and drink at home. Yaay.

Mine has a smaller diamond weave pattern and last about 4 or 5 weeks. Filters stay cleaner with Protec Humidifier cleaning ball in the water or the liquid type, that I might buy next time. So many that look like they would fit and are much cheaper, but I stick to what suppose to work, given my model number.

Ok. We aren't supposed to sit at the bar so we don't. We sit outside because we are more like 3 feet than 6 and the Covid spread risks are lower. The bartenders will sometimes bring drinks outside and stay and talk and one of our favorites is a smoker so she has her break standing by our table. So we do get to talk. Last week we were discussing fried chicken and she made some claims about hers. Apparently someone was skeptical because this week when we walked in she greeted us with a dish with 15 or so pieces of her fried chicken. It was GOOD! But we have managed to have the interactions in spite of government and self imposed distancing.

But the whole point of A/C is to pull the moisture OUT of the air! (Our humidity is currently at 94%.) I'm inside with the A/C on and sitting in front of a fan...

OK...(politcal part of answer)...please tell me how sitting in an enclosed tent is better than sitting inside a bar or restaurant
with AC and filters running...:ROFLMAO::censored:

Now, back to OP, here in Masachusetts, at least Central Masachusetts...at least according to my two D'Addario electronic hygrometers...we have pretty normal humidity during the day, but it bottoms out most nights...and the squashed Oasis humidifiers in my five cases (x2) would seem to bear that out.

Just had a little rain, Acu Rite electronic thermometer says 80 deg outdooors and 79% humidity...81 and 75% inside...I dying here...

If that's in reference to me, sitting outside in this case is not in a tent, but under a canopy and open on four sides. It is also the case that building HVAC may or may not be filtering out viruses. This particular building is at least 100 years old and the AC is not 2020's state of the art. So I think I just told you. If you weren't referring to my comment then Never MInd.

FRONO! Of course I was not sticking my finger in your chest!

Just here in bucolic Northeast, with all the restaurants and bars chaffing at the bit to open (hope Tom likes
that metaphor :)), many places have offered "outdoor seating," which to my eye does not offer the six foot clearances, and
with a tent top and three enclosed sides, looks pretty much like "enclosed" to me.

On Monday everything opens up..YEE-HAW! As for us, we'll be sitting at home, doing grocery shopping,
and as the OP...visiting the package store with our N95 masks on so we can drink on our front porch. ;)

Sirkku! Can I have another wine cooler? That Woodbridge Chardonnay you found is pretty good. "Hic"

BTW, outside humidity is now 89% and its not raining 😲

Bill, I loved the bit metaphor so yeah.... we were just gonna suck it up and stay home but since it's our last night to sit at the bar, they shut down at midnight, we ran over to Panevino early (2:45) and had the whole bar to ourselves and as soon as the Happy Hour crew and customers started to come in, we bolted and ran..... so two hours at the bar until the next revision of our lives. Now we're home and playing music and life is good.

Panevino right next to the airport and looking over the Strip. What a lovely view, eh??
