Similar to a perennial question and can get interesting, but for some people it is not a hypothetical, but a reality. Retire, so the finances change. Downsize living quarters so there is not enough space to store everything. Have no heirs or heirs who have made it clear they would rather not have to deal with your guitars. Now it's not a hypothetical

If the question is aimed at people who have 50+ guitars I think the number of LTG members who would qualify is less than 10. I can think of seven, by name. One has chosen to not discuss their collection in public, two of those have not been active in quite some time and one of the inactive members is making their living by buying and selling their collection so might not count.

AWagner, I have a slightly less absurd hypothetical for you... Any interest in owning *three Brazillian F-312's? My 1965 has different figuring than both of yours, a 2-inch nut, and is pre-Chesterfield on the headstock...if so

acoustic--1975 custom Dobro 12 string (unless resonators get counted separately--then my '65 F212)
electric--1962 Supro Martinique
Bass--1981 B50
but--I have to also get to have one acoustic square neck, one electric lap steel, one ukulele, one mandolin, one tenor guitar, etc.
as I play those as much as my "Spanish" guitars...!

I am sure it is a great guitar, but I will be selling my F312 NT as soon as some minor work is completed. It is a fantastic guitar, but even I can't justify owning 2, let alone 3, F312s (that rule does not apply to some other models).

Acoustic: my 74’ D-35, for some reason I gravitate towards that one
Electric: My 1980 Ibanez ST-50 mostly for attachment reasons, had it for almost 10 years now, bought it my sophomore year.
Bass: I sold every bass I ever owned so.... I guess in place of that I’ll just substitute bass for an amp..
Amp: My 1973 oddball Alamo hybrid amp. It’s a single ended power section with a 5Y3 and a 6V6 and it sounds amazing solidifying my theory that power tubes make up a large part of the tube sound. SS JFET front end IIRC of what I seen in other Alamo amps applies to mine. Apparently JFET’s act similar to a triode. Make of that what you will.

Ooo don’t see many with stock Grovers. Guess it was a weird transition between the weird 3 on a plate and the Gotoh style like on my 74?

Slight veer, but tuners on D35's during that time period seem to be... varied.

I had a '71 with Kluson Deluxe "Safety Post" tuners, original to the guitar.

I like safety post tuners like on old Fender guitars and basses. I'm not that fond of stabbing myself with string ends. Two bloody pokes the other day on one string change. Luckily they were my own strings, even worse with other people's germs.

I promised myself I'd never own more than one 12 string, and if I did, I'd take my '96 D25-12 back. My NH F512 is so good, it's basically impossible to top, and the neck profile is just perfect.

Considering you own 3 Pilots and 2 Orpheums, your self-imposed rule seems a bit arbitrary to me.

I think you would really enjoy a Brazilian F312, which is quite different from a F512. And fortunately for you, there are 2 available for sale by LTG members in New York, in case you decide to break your promise to yourself.
