We talk about the TRC Police (of which I am a proud member) jokingly
(sometimes), but I see it as upholding the tradition of Guild and its designs, including the way they designed their truss rod covers.
You can imagine my dismay when I saw this post from Guild’s own FB page. Aside from the involuntary cringe at the term “little bucker“ 😣, the fact that they can’t tell when something is wrong...🤦🏼‍♂️.

They probably didn't take the pic.
It’s their own post, advertising it, not someone else’s post to their page. That’s a classic advertising-type shot. They should proof any shots they use.

Not letting them off the hook.

No, those are not Guild's own pictures! They even show that the pictures are from Stringsfield in Valencia Spain!

What is confusing is that they show:

Not sure what NYC has to do with Valencia Spain...

Anyway, those otherwise very nice pictures are not even on Stringsfield's Facebook page but on their Instagram Page, so Guild simply reused them for the Guild Facebook page.

And here is the guitar in question with the upside down TRC on the Stringsfield homepage:

Your ability to track these things down and sort them out is mind boggling! And thank you for doing it. :)

I agree that Guild should be better at this, but their social media advertising has been less than stellar IMO since CMG took over. They often use other people's photos, they mirror FB from Instagram and then don't monitor FB at all, and I've even seen them call out the wrong vintage guitar that's not the one in the pic.

I think their social media is run by someone with zero clue about vintage Guilds - and that's a whole 'nuther topic right there.

Good catch, Chris! However it happened, that's pretty bad...

I think the TRC is properly oriented, but the guitar is not. Easy fix. Remove the TRC and flip the guitar.

This struck my as funny but mostly because of the part of my brain that's convinced that you've been buying and selling Guilds while removing the TRCs. I now envision you having a bucket full of Guild TRCs and a bunch of people on the Internet wondering where to find correct replacements.

I forgot to mention that after you flip the guitar you must reattach the TRC to restore it to stasis.

Well if Guild would pony up and come up outta da pocket and get something written on their TRCs then this wouldn’t even be an issue!!! (Just kidding).
