I need a new hat

Hats are great!…. They are also the cheapest form of cosmetic surgery for guys that are balding….. make you look a good ten years younger

Nothing I wear is going to make me look chic or "cool", so I wear hats strictly for practical reasons: to protect my head and neck from the sun, and to shade my eyes.
To that end, I wear cloth baseball caps, except when photographing.
I refuse to wear a ballcap backwards, so instead, when photographing I wear a military-style soft-brimmed boonie hat that doesn't prevent a camera from being held in portrait orientation as needed.

I've worn berets off and on for 50 years or more....

Beret was my hat of choice for many years. I always wore mine back when I was playing darts in leagues and tournaments, so much so I was known as "Frenchie."

My favorite is the Scala "Ascot Classico", like in my photo at the left.. They are the stiffer style felt hat, not the floppy, "crushable" hats. Very comfortable.

I also have one grey and one black Scala "Zoot" hat.

The "guy" started out as a a drawing of Chichi Rodriguez (hence the golf ball) but was altered to avoid potential legal issues. Kind of like Shepherd Fairey's "Obey" sticker.
