And, I seemed to be doing so well. I sold off all but 5 of my Martins and all of my Gibsons along with a smattering of a few Guilds to create a war chest for a few I'd like to be able to buy. But, money burns a whole in my pockets just as much as the next guy so I've picked up a few pieces along the way.

My recent purchaes include a Blueridge BG 160 (slope shoulderd Spruce top and RW back and sides), a Blueridge BG 1500 (Spruce top and Maple back and sides) and an Epiphone Masterbilt FT 79 Texan (Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides.

Also, I've posted before about a builder I really like in North Carolina named Richie Crowder. I've gone all in on him and have 20 in total in the pipeline. I have 3 in hand. The 1st was a D 18ish Honduran Mahogany with Red Spruce top that I posted about a few months back. I then just received a Sapele Back and Sides with Red Spruce top and a Guatamalan RW back and sides with Red Spruce top. I'm including a few pics (6 of each) of those guitars below.

I then picked up the GSR F 50 Koa from a store in Scotland. I posted about that a bit yesterday and more pics to come once I receive it.

There are many more on my bucket list that I'd like to track down and try out before I leave for that big Guitar Store in the sky. We'll see if I can find them.

With you on selling off to buy more! Sold my X170 to fund my D55 and trying to sell my Godin Nylon ACS to replace what I spent on my Baritone Guild.

Both are beautiful!

What is the difference in sound?

How many Crowder guitars do you have in hand?

That is some fall Richard! Love the quilt/flame on that Sapele. What does it sound like? What is it about the Crowder guitars that appeals so much to you?

Well, I love the thought of a hand built guitar that isn't built on an assembly line, I like what I call exotic woods and you don't see a lot of that offered by Guild, Martin or Gibson (my 3 favorite USA Manufacturers) unless it's from the Custom Shop and those are typically priced higher than what I'd pay, and I believe his prices are not just reasonable but very much so reasonable.

The downside is he's a one man show so count on many, many months or more before the guitar is in hand. But, it gives me something to look foward to and I like supporting small businesses.

I imagine they would have to sound pretty damn good you to order so many. How would you compare the ones you’ve tried or heard to other brands in terms of overall sound?

Well, for sure they sound good. I won't tell you they sound better than Guild, Martin or Gibson but I will say that the Crowder guitars won't take a back seat to any of those. I have always tended to like unique and different and you can get that in spades from a Custom Builder. I just like the fact that I'll have numerous guitars that very few, if any, will also have. I get a kick out of that.

Of course, typically a Custom Buil;d is a bit harder to sell if you need to do that. But, at this point in my life, I have no desire to sell them. I'll let the Executor of my estate deal with all that after I check out.

With all the acoustics you’re buying, do you have any Guild electrics you are unloading?
