Thanks to Ranger, who spotted a lovely Tacoma F-412 for sale in his town, I am now the owner of same. It is *lovely,* with beautiful flame maple back & sides. I will post pics when I receive the guitar (store's pics were taken with a phone and are less than adequate for this forum).

You can be SURE I reviewed the packaging & shipping with the store owner! He's sending via FedEx, already a plus in my mind, and taking extra care with the pin, which can't be removed because the voltage apparently runs through there. (Yes, it's a 412-E!)

On another note, I'm going to see Carlo Greco this Saturday with my F-512 for a tuneup. That'll be fun! I'll let you all know how that goes.

I want to thank every one of you for taking the time and consideration to find a guitar for me. You are all just great.

We'll be holding our breath until it arrives safely.

With having two cats, two rabbits and two particularly smelly teenage boys in my house, that's a good thing.

So why are the teenaged boys particularly smelly? Are they smellier than the *average* teenaged boy? I ask because my son is on the cusp of becoming a teenager, and I want to be prepared. Gas mask, Neutra-Air, exhaust fans all in place!

It's a glorious day when they realize that soap and water, when used together, is a good thing.

I don't think they can smell themselves. They get to a point where they need to shower every day, not just sit on the edge of the tub with the water running.

I had girls, they didn't smell bad but then they spent most of the time in the bathroom showering/shaving/primping/preening/other things I don't know/running the electric bill sky high.. Then the smelly boys came around. I spent most of my time scowling/evil eyeing/cleaning my guns... but I digress.

Congrats Barbara from a new guy. I've read some of your posts you seem cool. Hope you don't mind if I intrude on this one.

My daughter has been dating the same guy for coming up to two years now. He's a good one, but is still terrified of me.

I like that.

Did I say congrats Barb?

I like that.

Me too. And I forgot to mention the death-grip handshake accompanied by the concrete eye lock.

...Of course I remember what I did after I met the ol' man....

Teenage boys sweat. Profusely. And are somewhat casual about retrieving the dirty socks from wherever they've squirreled them away. I don't know why they do that. It's like marking their territory, only using socks instead of pee.

My teenage boy is actually a bit more fastidious than I am. I remember teasing him a bit about it, he just looked at me and said "one of us should look good".

Single father stuff :D

Wonderful. Both my kids are pre-teen boys, and they already leave their socks wherever they please. Now I've got this to look forward to...

:) :D

Thanks for all the congratulations, everyone.

So now here's what I have to look forward to: 1 beautiful Tacoma Guild F-412 w/DTAR and one smelly boy who leaves a trail of dirty socks behind him.

I wonder if I can use the F-412 as a club?

Congrats on the F-412, Barb. There's nothing as exciting as getting a new guitar.

TAKE THE END PIN OUT BEFORE YOU CLOBBER YOUR SON WITH IT!!!!!!!!
