I average about 5, some days, 6.
I make a full pot, which I know says 12 but really, it is 6 full cups and usually drink 4-5, depending.

You?

1 or 2 every morning and two or three times per week I'll have a caffè doppio in the afternoon with a treat (piece of dark chocolate or biscotti).

1 in the morning, that's it.

My bro in law, however, drinks coffee all day, every day.

We make a full pot in the morning and each drink about half. Sometimes make another half pot in the afternoon and split that. If I'm going out in the evening to jam or gig I sometimes make another 4-cups and fill my yeti mug before heading out.

Yeah we drink too much coffee.

I don't drink coffee; I drink Espresso. :)

My problem is that coffee, er, espresso is a gateway drug to sugar, so I limit to one a day.

I have tried to cut back but gave up. I went to doctor in past year, she goes, wait, how much do you drink? (cause she had me do blood work to test a bunch of stuff)...

she is like, well, you don't have any issues from coffee so....sweet!

is it true that espresso is actually weaker than coffee?
it's that or an espresso is equal to 3 cups of drip coffee.

i cannot remember

I have one mug in the morning, which I may or may not finish. Then I set it aside and after I nap, I refill and reheat and finish it. So two mugs. No coffee after 3 ever! I remember one time I had two espresso martinis at about 5 and 6 pm. I'd like to never got to sleep!! Sure did taste good though!!

Yeah, we grind our own too. Nothing like fresh ground. We're also using fresh ground in our Keurig.

Espresso is much more caffeine-dense than drip coffee. The issue is that people often try to equate a single shot of espresso (often 1-1.5 floz) to a mug (often 16oz) of coffee. If I drank 16oz of espresso I'd probably die. :)

The coffee pots says 10 cups. Whatever the number, I don't drink coffee after noon. There was a time when I started my morning with beer. Black coffee is a huge improvement over those days.

Monday thru Friday: Approximately 3 cups of La Colombe downed by 10:00 am and brewed in our office Flavia machine. Pretty good stuff.
Saturday: Large red-eye courtesy of Endgrain Coffee Roasters, the coffee joint in town. I calculate as the rough equivalent of 3-4 cups and is part of my running errands ritual.
Sunday: Large half-caf pot of La Colombe, freshly ground and brewed in our Bonavita coffee maker. This is my sole, sacred, and mighty Sunday morning responsibility, and as She Who Must Be Obeyed reminds me every Sunday, I am her coffee b*tch.
