I noticed that 70´s Hot Tuna records are released in Culture Factory USA´s “Deluxe Vinyl Replica” series. Disc info is a bit confusing, it is talking about “audio CD” but at the same it says “The music is encoded using state of the art, high definition remastering in 96 kHz / 24 BIT audio.” Anybody owns any of these discs? Are they normal audio CD´s (44.1kHz/16-bit) or are they something else?

When you look at individual releases they claim "Audio CD" as a format, so I would assume that they would play in a regular CD player. Whether they would sound better is an open question. I do note the "endorsement" implied by the note about them at Hot Tuna's site.

I don't own any of these, but IMHO it would be pretty hard to improve much on that muddy Wally Heider recoding studio sound on most of them, America's Choice and Yellow Fever in particular. That muddy sound has actually become a big part of their appeal to me!
