We are presently camped on the beach on Mustang Island on the Central Texas Coast, with leftover gumbo from Louisiana behind our belts after a spectacular feeding frenzy of terns and pelicans just off the beach at sunset, not a stone's throw from our backdoor.

We will be hard pressed to top today's first leg. We started at 4 AM in dense fog in southwest Louisiana, drove through a magnificent line squall in Rockport, TX, and now have the sound of surf to lull us into tomorrow. :D

Life, :!:

Are you near Aransas Pass Joe? Man, you're right at Redfish Bay.......that's one spot we've hunted a bunch. About 4 miles down the road in Ingelside is where we watched the Bullwinkle project being built. My gosh what a structure. Laying on it's side at the time, the platform ended up resting in over 1300 feet of water off Louisiana. At the base, seems like it was over 400' from bottom to top of the base, laying on it's side on barges. I think shell owns that one. Stop at the inlet in Rockport and even now I'll bet you can get some killer pintail and redhead shots.

This shot was taken on Redfish Bay within view of the bridge between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass. :)

Y'all be careful. And if you get a chance, give Kenny and Pam a big hug for me.

Joe and Cindy spent a couple of hours with us during their whirlwind vacation this afternoon. They left just a few minutes ago on their way to see the sights in west Tejas as they journey homeward. Pam took these three as we spent about 30 minutes on the back patio. Cindy and Joe started clicking as soon as they arrived and have many more. We had hoped to visit Ninfa's, but time did not allow. Next time for sure! :D

Joe and Hanzz had the Texas Mockingbirds joining in:

Dang it was fun...

Took about 30 minutes to say goodbye as we kept thinking of another tune, then another, then another...

Ya'll come back now, and don't be in such a hurry, ya heah?

Layover time in the Davis Mts. of WTX, but let me tell you, I wish I could have stayed with Ken and Pam....a lot fewer bugs, I'll bet.
But the crickets are a nice background.

We had a great but too short visit with those fine folks!!

Pics are coming and we have a few GREAT ones!!
