I'll echo what's already been said : the reverse tone knobs are news to me and probably not stock, the volumes on top are what's on my Hoboken guitars as well. As a result, I'm very confused when somebody hands me a Gibson guitar.

As per Walter, my 61 Starfire III, 63 CE100D & 66 Starfire V all have the volume knobs on top. I don't mind it at all.

Very cool. I love learning new stuff like the knobs weren't always where I've grown to expect them to be. Honestly, it seems to make a lot more sense with the volume knobs simulating the pickup positions, now that I think about it. :)

Same on my '56 Aristocrat. See also Phil X who got a bit confused by this, like on 04:40.

Aren't all Guild's laid out that way, though? I know you've owned a couple before...

Phil X is the best. I'm thinking you're outside his demographic, though. 👍
You're right, Gary, I'm 73...though I have lived through the efflorescence of rock and roll and rock. I mean, Hendrix was gone by 1970, and he could shred with the best of them, even set guitars on fire. To my mind, Phil X, is a numb skull...can't even speak a complete sentence. I have to admit I never listened to heavy metal, and the stuff that grew out of it. Grunge never turned me on. When rap came out in the late 80's with titles like "Black Vagina Finda," I gave up on that genre as well. I confiscated the cassette from my 12 and 9 year olds. As Will Durrant the historian said: "Only the old can live in the past. Only the young can live in the future."

June 1958 announcement for the T-100. Because, you know... history. :)

It starts to hurt and feel funny when I play like Phil X the last year or so.
