Hi. Very excited. Picking up my first Guild tomorrow. Found a Westerly F4CE on Craigslist.
As long as everything works out, I’ll follow up.

Hey D_C, welcome to LTG! The F4ce is a model in a series of guitars by Guild during the Westerly era that I particularly like. I'm hopeful that the sale goes well, and you can hit us with some photos soon!! (y)

I’m a bit confused by the AD serial number.
3314 definitely puts this guitar post 1999.
Going to pick it up in a few hours and I can hardly wait...

Oh, those tricky Guild serial numbers. I'm sure someone will be along to decode that for you, but as far as I know, which is not much with regard to serial numbers, it's the "D" in the AD that dates the guitar. (Stay tuned to see how right or wrong that is!)

The "AD" is the code for the model. The number is how many have been made. (Although 43,314 seems to be an awful lot!

There is no way to figure out the date from the serial number without the charts.

Guild serial numbers do not mean what you think they should mean, depending on the era. You can go here to get the serial number chart but understand that it is incomplete and inaccurate. Looking at the chart I would expect a F4CE to have a serial number that started with AF. I would then guess, since AF043314 is "off the chart" that the date is after 1997 but before 2005. That makes this a job for Hans Moust. I expect AD instead of AF is an error from the factory. It soule be interesting to see what is stamped in the back of the headstock.

Hmmmm. Seems to have been a hand written typo. Kinda cool.

We've seen typos before. My personal favorite is a duplicate serial number. BA-1260 was assigned to both a Starfire I bass and a Starfire II bass. Different basses, not a factory conversion.

frono, we're gonna get you a turban and then do videos where you predict serial numbers stamped in the back of the headstock. I'd watch.... you know, kinda ala Johnny Carson?? That was pretty crafty with that AF prediction.....

I am in love.
Owned my F4ce for less than 2 hours and was already used in rehearsal.
