For those of us who acquire guitars with some regularity (no one here!) and who also make our own nuts and saddles, this tool is indispensible:

For going on two decades now I've been replacing plastic saddles with bone (that I make myself from blanks) and adjusting saddle heights as needed. After working for years with vises, files and sandpaper, I finally bit the bullet and bought this thing.
Wow! I've been using it for six or seven years now and I can't say enough good things about it. It is infinitely adjustable, and a cinch (fun even!) to use.
Considering what I used to pay luthiers for new saddles, and the time and effort I used to put in making them myself, this doohickey has paid for itself many times over.
