Hmm...I'd better duck when Ryan whips that Jack Daniels bottle at my head...he's an emotional guy! If you all aren't familiar with him, for all his reputation as a prick, etc...he's just a really talented songwriter and amazingly (perhaps too, some say...) prolific. Actually I met him here in Chicago a couple of years ago, and he was very polite and into talking about his and other music...a real gearhead...he plays a '74 D25 on a lot of his tracks. Got to love him for that. Anyhoo....my lame cover of a beautiful song...on his record the harmonies are by the incomparable EmmyLou Harris.

Nice. I've heard/seen his name, otherwise I know nothing of him, but this sounds like a nice song. Plus "he plays a '74 D25 on a lot of his tracks. Got to love him for that."
Gotta love them D25's. :)

12String just the MicroTtrack with the plug in stereo mics about 6 " from the soundhole. Still playing with Audacity to lay down guitar tracks and then adding vocs...will post those results when they're "acceptable."

Thanks, Scratch. :) That reminds me to pull the G312 out of the closet before I get too wrapped up in coding for the day. ;)

My apologies for the late response, I had to take a break to do some work. Hate it when that happens. Ooops... nap time...

Got 'Cali' across the desk from me. He'll get some lunchtime play. Still need to get it in for a setup...

I can't listen to this right now, but I will say, flat out, that Ryan Adams is the most significant songwriter of our generation. I'm more than willing to fight anyone who disagrees.

And he won't wing a jack bottle at you; he quit drinking. I think he still "smokes", though, haha.

For those non-fans, his best known song is probably, unfortunately, "When the stars go blue", as covered by that lame b*tch of a man, Tim McGraw. I would imagine his best known original recording is "New York, New York". The video for it was shot just before Sept 11, with the two towers in the background, coincidentally. Everyone will probably be better off in life if they get on youtube right now and look it up.

Also, in case anyone's going to accuse me of being a pretentious a$$ - save yourself the breath. I just got done with an interview for Juice (http://www.dmjuice.com) that will run Sept 17... in which I got up on my high horse about how terrible Nashville-pop-country is, and how the lack of honesty in songwriting is ruining music.

Edit: also, I'm on the cover of Juice today, but not for musical stuff - just because they needed a model, haha.

Thanks, West...yep I noticed those fans...so thanks again! Ben, thank you also for that compliment. No MySpace page...I guess that's next...so Ryan quit drinking...I'd heard that. Good for him! He's such a huge talent, and when I met him, a really sweet guy. The guy who teaches my guitar class at Old Town School has toured with him. Steve says he was always just teeming with ideas and songs...damn, to have that much talent...
