Help Serial# D-55

I need some help dating a D-55 with Serial #AD551558 , Westerly is stamped on the headstock. I appreciate any assistance ...

My research says late 1998 or a 1999. After Fender bought Guild in 1997 (I believe), Fenders Quality Control was much more consistant and many feel those last years at Westerly were some of Guilds best guitars. I think so, also.

Not 100% sure of my date but if you get a flashlight and shine inside the sound hole on neck block, you should see a date of when the guitar was assembled. May have been three or four months before guitar was completely finished and on the market.

Nope, later! Hans dated ser. # AD551532 as completed during the year 2000 and AD551800 as July 2000 according to Hans.
So 1558 is surely also year 2000.

Hans also had previously explained regarding the neck block stamp: "...the neck block date was stamped on the day that the body rim was completed in the 'body shop'. That was a long time before the guitar was serial numbered in the 'finishing department' and even longer before the date that the guitar was completed in 'final assembly'."
