I haven't actually bought it yet but will provide lots of pictures if i do, Was this made is Westerly then? I take it that is a good thing. I'm interested to know what pickups are in this one?
Would this be exactly the same as a 1998 starfire for example? I have a starfire already and might buy this to compare them. My starfire was made in corona so i'm really interested to see how they both feel and play in comparison.
I have a blurry picture the seller has sent me but nothing decent.
What is wierd is i noticed on a 1997 starfire iv i've seen the finish looks like the black is more prominent - odd eh?
Thanks for your help hans. If this one has the guild humbuckers, and is definitely made in westerly i might make the guy an offer. It;s not in perfect condition but would probably scrub up quite well, what sort of price on USD should i be paying?

That would be the 'new' Fender designed humbuckers.
They are Guild humbuckers but they are different from the older HB-1 humbuckers. The nice thing about the new ones is that they are standard Gibson format, so most aftermarket pickups will drop right into a Starfire IV from this period.
Do a search for prices on eBay but I would think that if you pay around $ 1200.00 you would be doing OK.
