About 6 months ago I found a guy who had some 'new old stock' HB-1 mounting rings. He was selling them for a lot of money and wasn't really interested in selling them wholesale to me.
After bugging him for quite some time and actually offering him a reasonable amount for all the rings he had, I think he's slowly changing his mind about it. Right now he may get a lot of money for each ring but it's a lot of work advertising, exchanging e-mails, going to the post-office etc. etc. and he realizes that he may be better off selling them all to me.
So, at this point it looks like I'm going to buy his entire stock but I still don't know how many he really has. I'm not sure how quick we will be able to finalize the deal but just so you know, I will have some original HB-1 humbucking rings for sale in the very near future.
OK folks,
Finally! It took me a long time but I have 'm; original 'new old stock' HB-1 humbucker mounting rings:
I have the bridge pickup version
and the thinner fingerboard pickup version.
They are all flat on the bottom. If you want to use them on an arched surface I would advise you to match the curve of the surface it's going to be attached to. Guild didn't do this properly, which is the main reason why so many rings did break.
If you're interested just send me a 'private mail'.
Sincerely,
Hans Moust
