Playing (I’m a strummer) all my favourite songs both on my Oxnard D40 and my (newly acquired) Westerly D212NT.

both sound so great- both so different. I can see why some songs lend themselves better to 12s than 6s and vice versa now.

anyone else have a similar thought or am I just full of it?

Right on Aarfy. There are some songs that just sound better on a 12 string. And... there are others that sound better on a 6. You need both. For just noodling around I find a 12 string allows you to discover sounds and combinations that are not possible on a 6. Kind of like with open tuning. It just opens up another dimension. Congrats and glad you are enjoying the 212!

I’m finding songs played by artists on both (ie Travis/Fran Healy) sounds great with either.

some only on 6 strings (right now I’m (strumming, not picking) Running Styles of New York by Tallest man on earth and it soundsINCREDIBLE on the 12 - far more depth than I can hear on the 6.

fascinating.

Sometimes, I find that songs that were written or that are are commonly performed with piano instrumentation lend themselves to being done on a 12 string.

"Full of it" depends on your definition of "it." Sounds like you're full of music!

I miss my F512 especially for one song: "Nights In White Satin."

I play everything on my 12s. 😁 Of course, my repertoire is woefully meager.

Moody Blues "Never Comes The Day" also comes to mind.
