I am thinking of adding TV Trons to my X-170. I am trying to give a little more chime, shimmer and depty to my sound. If you have tried this what was your result?

I know Gerrit Kuypers, another Belgian LTG member, who has a blue X160 with TV Jones Filtertrons. He's very happy about it, maybe he'll chime in, or you could send him a pm.
I haven't put them on a Guild but I put them on a Epiphone Elite Byrdland and they are fantastic. Bell like tone, clear, twangy. I have just got a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet and I am about to order a pair of Trons for that. Trevor Jones seems to be a OK guy to deal with and the product is just what it says on the box.
Copied from Sean Costello’s ‘53 Goldtop these P-90s have lower output, more delicate attack, less midrange and bass, and are coupled with weak magnets. Overall tone is brighter with less of a grind to the distortion quality and is slower to overdrive an amp than the stock P-90 set. This set is good for an early Freddie King tone. De-gaussed Alnico2 magnets. Neck 7.1K, Middle 7.2K, Bridge 7.4K
To me the "early Freddie King tone" ie "hideaway" sounds very much like my 58 CE100D which has that Bright Jangly chimey tone. Plus as much as I like Filters I think only single coils have "that" sound!
